I’m not sure what tv to buy, there are so many different prices and brands and features. I don’t want to pay too much, how cheap can I get one that is just good enough.
preferably 1080p
I don’t care about gaming, just regular cable tv and movies.
I want to be able to view the screen at different angles
Since I dont’ want it to be too expensive I don’t need so many extra features, I just want it to be good enough.
I was looking towards LCD cuz that’s what most people say. Do burn-in still occur on plasmas and is there a major reflection? Does one last lnger than the other?
Are there brands I shouldn’t go for or does it even matter?
Can someone simply just tell me which one I should buy?
I saw an Lg at future shop for $999 it was LCD I think it was 1080p 42″ Is it worth it to buy that cheap?
Any help is appreciated!! I don’t trust sales reps, cuz I can’t tell if theyre just trying to make a sale.

I’d go with Samsung too. Their technology is top notch and the prices are competitive. They have a very easy to follow interface and it will last you longer.
I also agree with the subtle difference that 1080p has vs. 720p. Maybe it will be more important in the future, but right now you doesn’t really note it.
I have a 1080p LG 42″ LCD I got from future shop
So far (got it last boxing day) it’s working really well and shows great pictures no matter what the lighting or what I’m doing (olympics and video games mostly). My only complaint is that when hooking it up to a computer, the resolution has to be a certain value or it won’t accept the input. It’s also a little slow when changing inputs.
I like the Sony LCd’s XBR series, they are a little more expensive but worth it. They have the 120 hz refresh rate so theres no lag while watching sports.
I reckon that Phillips and Vizios are great too. Costco in US sells TVs at really good prices. You may want to check on them.
LG and Sony are top brands. That LG would be a good buy
my definate choice is Samsung. LG tends to have more technical problems than Samsung, and Sony are always overpriced due its marketing fees. Lcd is great and if u can find it for 999$ 1080p. I understand that under 50” screen, u can’t tell difference between 1080p vs.720p There may however be slight difference in blue ray, but i don’t see it. Go w/ samsung, and when buying also check for contrast ratio levels. Higher the ratio the better brilliance in color and brightness (7000:1 and up is good).
