Dell 32in Lcd Tv Sound Problems?

I have a 20 month old Dell 32 inch lcd television (model W3201C) that recently had its sound stop working. The sound does not come out through the speakers, but occasionally the sound will come back on but as soon as I turn it off and on again the sound will not be working again. I have tried changing the input selection but still nothing. I no longer have a warranty so sending it back is out of the question. Is there anything i can do manually or is it a lost cause?
This may be a problem with the headphone jack…
If you have a soldering iron, you can replace it with parts at your local Radioshack (US), or Maplain electronics (UK).
