You can always trust Sony. You can’t go wrong. But If you’re going flat panel, plasmas (although the same as LCD are expensive to repair if pixels go) usually last longer. Definetly go Sony though.
Sony is lower on the echelon, people who believe in that brand are not in the business and will say that because of the propaganda. You can get more quality for a better price with Toshiba, Samsung, LG, Sharp, JVC and Panasonic LCDs.
