How Can I Adjust The Quality On My Lcd Tv?

I just bought a 32″ Vizio i’m having trouble adjusting it to the right quality it doesn’t seem right to me..Granted I still yet to have any hd channels installed..
Will the picture get better once I get my hd channels?..I’m new to the whole hd thing so please bare with me.
yea definitely wait for the hd channels, non hd channels look like crap on nice tvs. especially smaller lcd’s.
