Your laptop likely has an S-video port that you can use to connect it to your TV (if the TV has one connector itself, very likely). Get an S-video cable (looks like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video) pretty much from any store, and connect the laptop to the TV. You may have to turn on the output on that port on the laptop. This is usually done by pressing the function key (labeled FN, usually blue, on the left hand side of the keyboard) and, while holding down that key pressing F4, maybe more than once.
If this is not clear, look in your manual for S-video, and you should get all the info you need.
