Sony is the best out there in LCDs. Thats what they specialize in. You dont just pay for the name, you pay for the support behind the product, the design and picture quality.
Sony makes movies and they know how to display them properly. Sony uses protection circuitry incase a part goes bad it wont cause a chain reaction of parts to blow up unlike Samsung, they dont use any.
I dont like to fix tvs anymore, thats why I sell Sony and Toshiba HDTVs in my store. The best in quality.
Sony is very high quality in the LCD market. They set the bar in quality tv’s. Side by side with another TV of the same specs, and the sony 90% of the time still looks better. They use quality components to build a quality product, and they stand behind it a hell of a lot more than most of the other TV manufacturers.
Not to say that no one else has good quality, but no doubt in my mind, Sony is number one in quality, I sell them every day.
dont fall for the Sony name LCD is a proven technology that is very reliable (look at all the knock off name LCD tvs and computer monitors they look pretty damn good) go down to your local tv store and look for the one that has the best color and speed so that the images are clear at high speeds and pick that one Sony over charges for their name. one of the best companies out there is Samsung when looking at flat panel tvs
Of course, two completely unbiased answers from guys who sell Sonys….lol. Thats just like going up to a Chevrolet salesman and asking him who makes the best cars. Think he will say Ford?…lol. Big companies like Sony are more expensive for a reason and it isn’t because they necessarily have a better product. Bigger companies advertise more, make more product, have more employees and flat out have a higher operating cost. That is why you pay more for a Sony. In the case of flat panel tvs, quality has nothing to do with why you pay more for a big name brand. There simply is no such thing as a “best brand” of tv anymore. However, the Bravia series from Sony does rank high with the consumer market. But if you are looking for an LCD tv, go with specs over a brand name.
