i am thinking of buying a lcd/plasma tv 37-42 inch. but i dont know what the difference is. some people have said you cant see a picture from the side but on which one

LCD’s have bad off-angle viewing! Plasma’s have good off-angle viewing.
Plasma’s are better for fast motion content like sports, movies & gaming because they have ultra fast response times(.001ms), which eliminates motion blurring. They also have high contrast ratio’s(both dynamic & native) which helps produce the sharpest, most vivid & rich colors as well as true deep blacks and whiter whites!
However, good Plasma’s really don’t come in sizes smaller then 37″ for which a LCD would be a better choice…especially if there is a lot of light in the room! Plasma’s have glass screens which might cause glare…LCD’s have a nice matte screen which prevents glare!
Dollar for dollar i think you’ll be happier with a Panasonic or Samsung Plasma TV! Their color, contrast and motion sharpness are unbeatable!
its plasma all the way for me, samsung if you can.
LCD TV, available in all sizes, you get what you pay for, expensive means it’ll be a good tv, cheap = not so good. Plasma will give you a super smooth picture better than what you get on your normal CRT tv, LCD can give a jagged looking picture especially on a bigger screen if you’re too close to it, especially if you don’t have an HD signal going into it. i know people who buy a big TV for their living-room but it looks poor watching sky+ because we’re sitting too close, the room ain’t big enough to sit at a distance and it’s a normal signal, not HD, whereas if it was a normal signal going into a plasma, it’d still look good!
Lots to consider on this one, i’m currently saving for a plasma
they look the same but an LCD is more advanced and yes you can see the screen from every angle, the picture is clearer the resolution in is higher and it has a better sound projection. For this reason they are a little more expensive but worth the extra few pound. twenga has great deals though on.
The main differences are the contrast ration in which plasma blows LCD out of the water because it is much blacker blacks. Also plasma’s are better for sports and fast moving pictures. A downside to plasma is that if a picture like a TNT logo stays on the screen continuosly than it could burn into the tv so that when you turn off your tv you can still see the logo. Also plasma’s use a more energy than LCD’S for more information look at my link.http://reviews.cnet.com/4351-12658_7-658…
You can see a good answer here and search for the question “What are the different types of HDTVs?”:http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i…
LCD screens are Liquid crystal display and plasma screens contain various gasses and cells that glow when a current passes through them.
It is LCD that you cant see from the side if you get a really small screen.
each model is different but the view from an angle of LCD can be poor
also sports like football are not so good on my LCD because fast movements are fuzzy
i think you should look very carefully about buying plasma because i read some time ago that they are going to stop making them,i should certainly check on this. smudge.
