Get a high quality 720p set. My suggestion, in order of preference, is:
1. Panasonic Viera
2. Sony Bravia
3. Toshiba Regza
Don’t get a projection TV (if they even sell those any more. They’ll get darker and darker) and Plasma TVs are more expensive to fix if something were to go wrong than LCD.
