Personally I’d go for something with 1080i or 1080p but that tv would be good for Blu-Ray or HD-DVD

a blu-ray for your TV would be better because your TV is not fully HD. Your TV is only 720p and that is not full HD; a full HD TV has 1080p.
Yeah of course
dunno but we have a 32 inch samsung coming saturday, dunno about blu ray, hd should be alright though
Save your money and buy a 1080p television. Why buy a tv that is already outdated.
Either will work equally well. Blue-Ray sales are outpacing HD-DVD significantly (in big part thanks to the fact that the hugely popular PlayStation 3 is also a Blue-Ray player, so there are millions of gamers who are automatically part of the Blue-Ray camp). This means that there are more Blue-Ray movies than HD-DVD, and it’s most likely that Blue-Ray will prevail.
Blue-Ray also stores more information in the disc, which is another sign that it could win the market battle against HD-DVD. Hedging against either one losing, LG Electronics has released a player that can use either HD-DVD or Blue-Ray without disctinction, but they’re expensive (more than $500).
So, my advice would be to go for a Blue-Ray player. Actually, my best advice would be to go for a Playstation 3 ($399), that way you get a top-quality Blue-Ray player with the added bonus of getting the most powerful gaming platform for free.
