Proportions Are Correct On Lcd Tv As Pc Monitor, But Can You Shrink Size Of Objects So It Isn’t 400% Or More?

It is an Envision 32″ LCD TV and a Gateway computer. This is really hard on the eyes having it look like it’s “zoomed.” When working on our word processing program, we want to look at 100% as an 8 1/2×11 page not the size of our screen. We also want to be able to have a few windows open at a time without changing proportions. It would look like we have a few monitors all together. Is this even possible to do?
