Should I Buy A New Hd Ready 1080p Plasma Or Lcd Tv For The Ps3 Or Stick With My 1 Year Old 32″ Crt Widescreen?

Well the 1080P TVs ONLY SERVE ONE PURPOSE!!
And that’s to make Blu-Ray DVDs show you the best picture…..on your PS3!
It won’t super-improve your games….not like a Blu-ray movie.
You didn’t mention if your 32″ widescreen was HD 720P or HD 1080i….IF IT IS 1080i….it’ll do PS3 games just as well as 1080P….it’ll do Blu-ray just as well too…
.
The reason 1080P is out there is strictly for the fact that Blu-Ray video-stills will look better….action is 1080i’s forte….
TV stations (except for ABC) all broadcast in 1080i not 720….
Although I have seen 1080P….you have to understand that Big Box stores put their MOST EXPENSIVE TVs on the BEST SIGNAL and leave their older/less expensive TVs on the lower quality signals…..
I just bought a 1080i Hitachi Projo and only spent $850.00 to get 1080i True Native Resolution….it was located on the lower quality signal lines at Circuit City….I brought it home, hooked up HD to it and …..OMG!!! It’ looks just as good as the 1080P units on Blu-Ray signal!!!
I knew they would do that….
1080P will slowly come down in price and into the mid-priced units if you wait another year…..

up to 42″ lcd are far better. above this some people say plasma have a slight edge. if you intend gaming on it avoid plasma. the best on the market at present is the sony bravia range.

It all depends how much you wish to spend of course!
Then a plasma has many advantages on top of your existing set.
You have a good picture and great sound if you wish to go for a good home cinema. Also you have the multi-media facilities …
the best plasma on the market is still Pioneer which do not make LCD’s…
Go to your dealer and see for yourself. Depending on the size of your lounge where you would install it or your TV room you may choose from a small screen size up to 60 or more inch size screen … but a 43 inch one is welcome in most homes.

You should definately buy an HD ready 1080 tv, i have an xbox 360 and used it first with my normal tv and then i got the HD one, the difference was very noticeable, it looks sooooo much better, just make sure you have all the cables necesary for the ps3, and i would check the manual of your ps3 too cause in the xbox360 manual says that normal tv’s (non HD ready) can get burn from too much definition… so if you have the cash i would buy the plasma, i find it to be a good investment cause youll spend lots of time looking at it, and if you cant afford plasma get lcd but make sure its HD ready !!

Do NOT buy the HD Ready! Go for the LCD Tv one with HD not ready, but already installed. The widescreen 32” Is not good at all for your PS3 to get the good expirience. HD ready means that you can install an HD drive for the tv, it will accept it. But it is not included in the installing and is very hard to do. It has the outcome of doing it succesfully (rare for average people) or destroying the new TV.

I have an HD crt and I would not trade it for LCD.
Besides you don’t want to buy any “HD ready” TV go for buit-in hdtv.

I would vote for 1080p plasma. Your 32″ CRT can’t do HDTV and especially HDMI.

LCD screens work at there optimon at around 32″ . If you want a bigger screen then go plasma. I’ve just changed my 32″ LCD to a 42″ Plasma – brill.
