In standard definition broadcasts, they will look blurry unless viewed from a distance on a smaller tv. This is a downfall of LCD tvs. Your HD programming should look fine, and if it doesn’t, you should look to your source.
CRT Tvs have a better contrast ratio than most LCDs, but no manufacturer makes HDCRTs anymore.
