I Have A Samsung 32 Inch Screen Connected To A Computer With Dvi But Cant Get Good Resolution!!!?

I have a samsung 32 inch LCD tv. I connected my computer to it via dvi. Media centre looks great but I cant get any other program to look good as for the resolution is under 1280×720. does anyone now any drivers i can use or anything else that can help?

I connected a JVC LT-32a61bv 32″ LCD TV to my laptop with Windows Vista.
I can make it work at 640×480 resolution only.
It should support 1366 x 768.
Windows recognizes the screen as a Generic plug and play monitor. How can I tell windows that the screen supports a different resolution?
