Laptop Connection To Lcd Tv?

I have Sharp LCD TV 42″,need to connect my laptop Acer Aspire 5584 to tv.I have got a cable which says PC Audio/Video – AV connection,7 pin SVHS+Composite+Digital Audio.
But when i connect it,and toggle the screen,nothing shows up on tv screen.

I connected the coax cable from wall to RF modulator. Then RF modulator into side panel of tv & connected S video. What else am I missing to be able to watch tv? Tried going thru menus using the remote and just cannot figure it out. Please help!
