I have my contrast on 100, which is the maximum on my Samsung LCD, because it’s the brightest, popping picture. My brightness I turned down to 42. Does this high of a contrast cause any distortion or picture quality loss? Am I missing a better picture?

I can buy an LG, 42 “, LCD TV with 50,000:1 contrast ratio, 1080P for around $1350.00. I see another model with the same specs except a contrast ratio of 15,000:1 going for $1250.00.

£600 will get you last years model ( 74 ) samsung, a little bit more will get you a toshiba, a tad more will get you the new panasonic, double the dosh will get the best, v series sony.
