When Hooking Your Pc To Your Lcd Tv…?

is it better to find a tv that has a TV input on the back of it….
or is it ok to use a converter cable that goes from a regular pc connection down to a HDMI connection and then plug that into your LCD?

I’m debating whether I want to try to do this… It would definitely be fun if the image is still fine even though it’s extremely stretched. However, if there’s a chance for damaging it, then I don’t even want to consider it.
