Trying To Plug Laptop Into Tv Using S Video Cord.?

I have been having trouble figuring out how to plug my toshiba laptop into a westinghouse 32″ lcd tv. Is there a setting I have to adjust on the laptop? Something on the tv that I am forgetting about? Anything would help.

I found the 32″ Dynex LCD TV at Best Buy for around 350.00 it has a great fixed contrast ratio of 2500:1 and 720p for its price
