I have been having trouble figuring out how to plug my toshiba laptop into a westinghouse 32″ lcd tv. Is there a setting I have to adjust on the laptop? Something on the tv that I am forgetting about? Anything would help.

I have a 32″ LCD TV I just bought to use as a monitor. I hooked up my Dell laptop to the TV using VGA cable, but the display is way too big. The screen resolution only gives me 3 options between 800×600 and 1360×768 pixels…any help changing the display smaller would be much appreciated.

If your projection TV is the old 4:3 (square) format, and you want a widescreen (16:9) picture of equivalent size, you should get a 50″ LCD. Probably the closest you can find is 52″. This will give you about the same picture height as the 42″ screen.

Hi i recently purchased a dvi to hdmi cable so I can hook my Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 to my 42″ Sanyo lcd tv. My computer is running on Vista and my tv has 3 hdmi inputs. When I hook both of these up correctly dvi to the laptop and hdmi to the tv I get no picture. I’m currently in the display settings on my laptop trying to get it to identify the TV by identifying monitors but I don’t think it’s picking up the TV at all. I’m a little confused and just need some help maybe messing with the settings on my laptop or the TV. I’ll provide a screen shot of what i’m looking at on my laptop at the moment. Any information will help, thank you!

Problem Using Lcd Tv As Second Pc Monitor?

I have a problem when I connect my PC to my 32″ Panasonic LCD TV. I’m using a regular VGA monitor cable (or whatever it’s called) but sometimes I get a picture on the TV and sometimes I don’t. Sometimes, I get an image on the TV, but it is just a portion from my desktop wallpaper – even when the image displayed on the laptop screen shows NOTHING of the wallpaper at all! There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind it – every time I connect, I get different results!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have been trying my best with the display control panel but there seems no pattern to what happens when I adjust the settings.

How Do I Secure A 42 Inch Flat Screen Tv To The Wall Without Using Screws?

I just bought a new LG 42LH30 42-Inch LCD HDTV. It’s just sitting on the table now and I want to secure it to the wall. Since I live in a rented apartment, I don’t want to put too many holes in the wall. Are there any products out there that will allow me to secure the TV to the wall without using any kind of screws?

I just bought a 32″ LCD TV to use as a computer monitor. I have hooked up the DVI cable from the TV to the computer, but the tv does not seem to be getting any signal. Any ideas??

I was thinking about buying a 42 inch lcd now because i can get a really good price on it. The problem is that i dont have a cable connection. I plan on moving within the next couple of months, so i really dont want to get it connected at the moment. So i was wondering if the lcd tv could pull any channels strictly off of the Atsc tuner?

Depends on what you use now. If it’s composite the answer would be probably. If you use component the answer would be maybe but the difference might be so slight that you wouldn’t notice it. Unless required, most likely the HDMI is there more for convenience than improvement.
