Which Tv Is Better: Samsung 40″ Ln40a550 Or A Sharp 42″ Lc42sb45u Lcd Hdtv?

Both TVs have a 1080p resolution, both are the same price on Black Friday, and both seem to be pretty darn nice TVs.
My question is which one of these two TVs has a more sharp picture/higher viewing angles/vivid colors.
The Samsung TV has a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, while the Sharp TV has an 8,000:1 ratio. What do these numbers mean?

first i’m not pro in tv, just tell you what i know. sharp is better i own one 32 at my home. there three brand that you can thinks of it, sony, sharp and samsung.Sony picture are pretty good but way too expensive, samsung is pretty good too ,it can compete with sharp, but one thing sharp beat all other LCD tv is because it needs only 6miliseconds to respond, check and compare to the other they only gave 8miliseconds(a bit slow).this feature is important because is part of picture quality.
