Well, the most expesive is sony, probably the best looking hdtv out there, second is samsung, also very good, probably best looking but sony better in picture. Sharp is third. You best choice is going like bestbuy look tv one by one in your own eye.
Sharp is the only good brand that makes LCD’s at 42″. Samsung and Sony only make 40″ LCD’s.
If you want a personal opinion, I’d go with a Panasonic Plasma for less money if you want a 42″. Plasmas give you a better picture and are better suited for motion/moving objects.
