Just following Xmas my parents decided to take the plunge and update their seven year old 32″ CRT TV.
So me being the helpful son decide to check ebuyer finding the following TV
– Vistron Noire 42″ HD Ready LCD TV Digital Freeview 1366×768 800:1 500cd/m2 HDMI/VGA PIP
A good spec’d TV with very nice reviews, and an equally nice price tag.
Just now I find several peeves shared by father and I.
My questions are these.
Firstly, I can’t track the manufacturer anywere which doesn’t help as I’m trying to programe in my SKY+ remote to operate both TV & SKY+ – any help ????????
Secondly, is their anyway of ensuring the it displays in its native ‘16:9′ rather than repeattedly (when watching the VCR or SKY+) switiching to its ‘native’ 4:3.
I guess I’m asking techno savvy pepeole out there if they know WHY it keeps reverting to 4:3 – as it is REALLY ANNOYING !!!???

You have now discovered most of the pitfalls of buying a cheap ‘no name’ television.
Poor reliability.
No sales backup.
No after sales service.
No manufacturer support.
No matter how often I say, “Buy cheap, buy twice”, people still go on doing it and go on getting frustrated and peeved, because they didn’t buy a well-known brand…
