I have no idea why it might be doing that,
However, I have a question...if this is a new LCD tele, surely it already has Freeview built in ??
Perhaps this answers the question

Have you connected your ariel into the freeview box?
And have you connected the scart socket or HDMI socket into the back of the TV?
If so
Make sure your TV doesn't have freview built in.

If you're using an indoor aerial, your signal will be drastically weaker than a proper roof top aerial.
All TV sets, and other electronic products, use a type of power supply known as "switched mode". These, by their very nature, have a tendency to generate spike, or impulse noise.
If your incoming aerial signal is weaker than this power supply noise, then it will definately cause a problem.
The answer is to get a proper aerial installed, or move the aerial some distance away from the TV using an aerial extension lead, but if your signal is weak to start with, this could make matters worse.
A poor earth connection, or a broken earth, on the aerial cable itself will also let in more power supply noise.
The TV is not faulty. You really should not be using an indoor aerial for Freeview reception, unless you live next door to the transmitter !
