X Box 360 And Lcd Hdtv Question?

i am looking to buy an LCD tv (42-47″) to really mainly play my 360 on. Can anyone offer me some insight, (reviews, really) as to what i may be looking for? Brand name, size, ect. Also, if i get a 1080p tv, how would that affect my 720p games? would it still look nice? Am i asking the right questions? ahhhhhhhhhh!
